Wokha, January 3 (MExN): The first edition of Lt Rev Fr John Larrea SDB Volleyball Tournament organised by Lotha Catholic Youth Association (LCYA) kick off at Montfort School, Baghty Town on January 3. It is held under the theme “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as I indeed you do" - Thessalonians 5:1 with C James Ezung, Assistant Director, Department of Social Welfare and President, Lotha Catholic Union as the special guest, stated a press release by LCYA Media Cell.
The special guest who also hoisted the LCYA flag lauded the LCYA executives for taking the initiative and said that a good foundation was laid wherein a history was created in the Lotha region.
Ezung cited that sport is very important even in the ancient world therefore he encouraged the participants to have a competitive and spirit of sportsmanship. He encouraged the participants to live a good Christian life by staying strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and also urged the participants to encourage and uplift one another in all areas of life as they continue to take a journey ahead in each one of their lives.
Dr Lawrence Kithan, President Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the event also witness special song from Genevieve Yanthan, welcome address by Tumbemo Titus Humtsoe, President Lotha Catholic Youth Association and invocation by Nchumbemo Peter Yanthan, Catechist, Sacred Heart Church, Baghty Town.
