With the aim to motivate strength training amongst the youth, Universal Gym has announced that it is organizing the first ever All Nagaland Fitness & Strength War of Nagaland will be held at Sakus mission College Campus on November 4 (Friday) from 9.00 am onwards. The organisers have informed that this will be the first of its kind in the state, a tactical strength challenge competition where different types of strength and endurance—as demanded by real life’s challenges are tested and competed amongst the contestants. This distinctive event is the an initiative of Bendang Imchen, Yanger, Meren Jamir and Senti. This will be a one day event and the winner will receive Rs.20,000; 1st runners up: Rs.10,000; 2nd Runners up Rs. 5000; A trophy each for the top three; A citation certificate of their participation and their accomplishment in the contest. The Fitness & Strength war will have four different tests: Bench press; Deadlift; Burpees or Pull ups Squats. The four different events will test a unique trade-off between these abilities. While larger participants may have an advantage in the deadlift, lighter participants have an advantage in pullups/Burpees and likewise. The rules are simple, the contest can't be said so, but the opportunity to say you faced Fitness & Strength War and survived makes it all worthwhile. The overall competition is scored based on fastest time taken to complete the four sequences in a round. Repetitions broken will not disqualify the participant since only the timing is counted. Uncompleted repetitions or a particular test not completed will be deemed as surrender. Hence the contestant won't qualify for next round.
