
Dehradun, December 20 (MExN): The ‘first-ever’ Naga Winter Carnival was hosted by the Naga Students’ Union Dehradun (NSUDD) on December 16 and 17.
Held as a fundraiser event in aid of freshers’ day besides creating a homely festive environment for the students and families residing in Dehradun, the carnival had positive response and a successful outcome, informed an NSUDD release.
It was opened for all and invitations were sent to the offices of other northeastern state unions where Arunachal Dehradun Students Union (ADSU) and Unified Tripura Students Union (UTSA) also set up their stalls while Dehradun Eastern Naga Students’ Union (DENSU) assisted with equally active involvement and volunteering during the whole event, it said.
The carnival featured games, open mic contest, dances and talent presentation as well as different food stalls.
On the second day right, the FIFA World Cup 3rd place match between Morocco and Croatia was screened.
The event closed with a game of bingo and a raffle draw where participants won gift hampers to take home, added the release from Osato K Chishi, General Secretary, NSUDD
