First Meluri Winter Fest ‘fostering oneness’

Meluri, December 11 (MExN): The two-day first Meluri Winter Fest with the theme ‘fostering oneness’ is underway at Meluri local ground starting from December 11.

The programme is initiated by ADC Meluri Albert Ezung, organised by District Administration & Police, in collaboration with Head of offices Meluri, Village Council Meluri, Meluri Public Area Organisation (MAPO) Müluori Shefüri Kügharü (MSK) Müluori Küchienyiri Kügharü (MKK) Women Welfare Society Meluri Town, Meluri Town Business Union (MTBU,) and joint wards co-ordination committee (JWCC), a DIPR report stated. 

The inaugural session was graced by Chonpa Jurry, President Pochury Hoho as the special guest. Jurry expressed his happiness and appreciation to ADC Meluri and the organisers for bringing out such a beautiful fest of its kind in Meluri and Pochury as a whole.

He congratulated to the organisers for setting an exemplary legacy which will go to down memory lane. Jurry also dwelt on the theme ‘Fostering Oneness’ which he is hopeful that, unity and oneness amongst brother's from various communities would bring harmony and peace not only to the denizens of Meluri and Pochury but also to the state and the nation as a whole.

Earlier, ADC Meluri Albert Ezung in his key note address mentioned that, this first ever winter fest will prove as a window to the outside world of Pochury and its people. He was happy that, “the government of Nagaland has in principle acknowledged Meluri as a separate District and was hopeful that, the aspirations of the people will be achieved very soon.”

Others who spoke were Tsirütho Nyusou VCC Meluri and convenor JWCC Rieniesie Ngouri. Special numbers were presented By Kütsiasie Kajiri and Alpha Music Academy. Temjen Aier, Pastor, Meluri Town Ao Baptist Church invoked God's blessings. Thousands of Meluri town settlers thronged the fest and the inaugural session was chaired EAC Meluri, Sakuchingmak Chang.
