Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): The first state level conference of Salesians in the Secular World (SSW) Nagaland was held at Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur on October 5.


The event was participated by ten SSW members and three Salesians. “The main purpose of the conference was to give clarity on the concept of (SSW) Saleaians in the Secular World, the structure of SSW Nagaland and as well as on the nomenclature,” stated a press release received here. 


Rev Fr CD Mathai SDB, Provincial Council member & in charge of Salesian Cooperators, Dimapur province gave the keynote address. In his speech, he gave a brief description of the history and spirit of Don Bosco, Father and Founder of Salesian congregation. 


Joe Ngamkhuchung, Regional Coordinator, SSW North East Region gave presentation on the concept of SSW. PA Thomas, Secretary, SSW Nagaland in brief presented the report on the evolution of SSW Nagaland and status. David, treasurer, SSW Nagaland also presented the financial report and its status. 


During the discussion it was decided that the term of office is three years as decided by the National committee. Decision was also taken to facilitate the formation of State Units in Manipur, Assam & Meghalaya as to hold the Regional Meet of SSW- NE, before December 2019.


In the conference Rev Fr Rector, Fr MD Verghese, Administrator of Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur pronounced the Opening &Final Blessings, respectively.
