In view of the need for providing better recreational and entertainment experiences for the citizens of Dimapur, two new 7D and Virtual Reality (VR) stations were officially inaugurated here at Green Park Adventure, Chümoukedima by Lezo Putsure, founder, EduCenter School of Business on September 13.
Based on its name, 7D cinema is a seven dimensional movie experience which features an array of theatrical lights, moving chairs, rains, wind, snow and smoke stated Yanren Kikon, CEO of Sky Entertainment and Green Park Adventure. “It is a whole new experience meant to stimulate the environment and is the first of its kind in Nagaland.”
He noted that due to the use special effects, which may cause motion sickness for some of the viewers, the time duration is about 8 to 10 minutes in length.
As for the VR station, it hosts an array of different games to choose from for customers, played through a VR headset.
Speaking during the launch, Putsure acknowledged the efforts of Sky Entertainment in turning a, once run-down place, into a vibrant space for the people of Dimapur and Nagaland. He mentioned the growing opportunities available for entrepreneurs in the current environment as government jobs have become saturated. It has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur, he said.
He further noted that the true character of a person is not in their success but borne through numerous failures.
“Everybody can become successful but it is when you pick yourself up after you fail that truly defines someone as an entrepreneur,” he said. Putsure also observed the importance that places such as Green Park have in providing a recreational space for young people and families alike.
Meanwhile, Kikon said the vision of Sky Entertainment is to make Green Park one of the best recreational centres for families and youths from all walks of life. Since its reopening, the place has provided employment opportunities to over 50 individuals, along with being a platform for local artists and musicians to showcase their talent.
As for the inspiration behind opening the two new stations, he revealed that it came to them when his family was on vacation to Singapore and visited the Universal Studios tech park. “So I decided to try it out for Nagaland as well and hired engineers and technicians from Delhi to set up the facilities.”
Besides these points he further explained that tickets for the 7D cinema will be set at Rs 300 per head while prices for the VR station will range between Rs 100-300 depending on the type of games.
Due to technical glitches and the need for fine-tuning, the facilities will only be fully open to the public in the coming days, preferably by Saturday or next week.
