Naga Hoho (NH) general secretary K Elu Ndang released the Zeme first feature film ‘Alung Sing Ne’ (From the depths of my heart), heralding Zeme’s foray into a new domain of entertainment and entrepreneurship.

Releasing the film on April 9 at State Academy Hall, Kohima, Ndang extended heartiest congratulations to the entire cast and crew of the film.

“I have been intrigued by the concept of Zeme feature film since the day it was conceptualized,” Ndang said adding that the efforts put by different sections of the community of Zemes without being laid back by artificial boundaries “is a laudable achievement worth emulating in all future endeavors of our community as a people.”

He said that the auditions that were carried out in all the three states (i.e., Assam-NC Hills, Manipur & Nagaland) for selecting the best and most suitable artist for various roles in the film is in itself an achievement and a benchmark parameter for excellence in the field of motion pictures for the Zeme community.

Today, the motion pictures shapes and mould the opinion of the society and it has impacted the society either for good or for bad, he said.

Ndang called upon the script writers and movie makers to work on the positive aspect that would influence the society to a better place.

“It is also important to reach out to the people by translating the oral history into motion pictures like the famous folk tales of Asa and Munserung or the life of Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu with proper research,” he opined.

Stating that profession in screen has greater prospect not only in terms of fame and earnings in the present context, he called upon the artists to make use of their skills and talents in making a profession.

Further, he extended congratulations to everyone involved and a pat on the back of the Zeme community for traversing into the world of feature films.

Earlier, director Boji Ningombam Krishnand delivered short speech while vote of thanks was proposed by actor Reguigwangbe Hegui.

Grace Kath compered the programme while Mitwatei Haibwang prayed for the programme.

The programme was followed by screening of ‘Alung Sing Ne.’
