Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 was conducted in Kohima today under the aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, National Service Scheme and Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.
The freedom run, which saw participation of 85 youths, started from PHQ junction and culminated at Kohima Local Ground.

Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports as part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organized Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 throughout the country.
‘Fit India Freedom Run’ was conceived last year in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic when social distancing became ‘new normal lifestyle, so as to keep the imperative need of fitness active even while following the social distancing norms.
‘Fit India Freedom Run’ aims to encourage people to take up fitness activities and get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases, etc.
Each week, programmes will be held in 75 districts and at 75 villages in each district till 2nd October 2021. The key activities of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 include pledge, freedom run and cultural functions, according to John Makhabo, director incharge, NYKS, Nagaland.
