Deeply concerned with the pace of developments over the past few days, with reports of armed cadres and civil authorities of the signatories of the” Covenant of Reconciliation” and the “Naga Concordant”, respectively, getting involved in the build-up of the ensuing Nagaland State General Assembly Elections, which is antagonizing the Naga Public, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) would like to APPEAL the Naga National Governments to restrain their respective cadres and all ranks and files from further involvement.
FNR is making this appeal, keeping in mind that the Naga Reconciliation has not fully accomplished the Journey of Common Hope, although it has to a great extend achieved the much desired cessation of violence amongst brothers and sisters and the ability to understand each other over any issues which are settled across the table.
FNR and the Naga Public are also aware that the signatories of the Naga Concordant have agreed to deter themselves from involving in the said elections.
And as we are hopefully entering the threshold of an amicable and meaningful reconciliation which will inevitably need the goodwill, support and co-operation of all Naga people, regardless of their social and political identities, FNR envisages, that leaders of the Naga National movement of all ranks and files will recognize this reality and acknowledge them both in deeds and gestures.
Let us move into our future for the sake of our children and their children, with the experiences of our past and not to repeat them.
KUKNALIM!
