
Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Chairman, North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), La Ganesan inaugurated the Bharat Ko Janno programme at Manan Kendra, Gangtok, Sikkim on June 14. Speaking at the programme, the Governor extended his appreciation to NEZCC, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, for organizing the magnificent festival, a press release from PRO Raj Bhavan stated.
“Witnessing the performances and exhibitions, we are reminded of the profound heritage that our forefathers have passed down to us,” Governor Ganesan said. Further adding that folk art and culture are not merely artistic expressions; but they are the lifeblood of our communities, encapsulating our history, values, and dreams for the future.
Moreover the programme stands as a testament of the nation's unity in diversity, exemplifying the rich and varied cultural traditions that each region proudly nurtures, the Governor mentioned. Through initiatives such as Discover India, it strives to connect border people through culture, in the essence of understanding and appreciation. Today’s event together an extraordinary assembly of artists from different Zonal Cultural Centres across the country, each adding their unique hues to this colourful cultural event, the Governor said.
He further commended the tireless efforts of everyone involved in making this event a reality. Their dedication to cultural preservation is commendable and sets a fine example for all, as this festival is organized with the objective of preservation, promotion and dissemination of the folk art and culture of the region within and outside the region.
The Governor also felt that the Bharat Jano Programme will not only strengthen cultural ties within the North-East but will also build bridges with other regions across India. “We should immerse ourselves in the rich cultural experience that is on offer today, celebrating the vibrant diversity that makes our nation truly incredible,” he observed.
