Kohima, August 9 (MExN): Under the aegis of the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, the Food Safety Wing (FSSAI) conducted training for hotel, restaurant and home based product operators on FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) at Hotel Japfü under the theme ‘Food Safety Everyone’s Responsibility’ on August 7.
The technical session was taken up by Trainer Sanjay Kale from Kai Vanjibaba Gramin Vikas Mandal, Nashik Maharashtra. The training main objective is to provide safe hygienic food and to prevent healthy food management to the consumers. He also highlighted the importance of food handling and storage especially to the business operator, as it is the most important component to avoid food poisoning etc.
In a press release Dr Vezokholu Theyo, Chief Medical Officer, Kohima stated that the programme was chaired by Peterson Pongener, Designated Officer (Food Safety) while keynote addressed by Dr John Kemp, SPO, citing that this training would be the first of its kind. He also mention saying that, the participants present in the training are lucky to be part of this training.
