‘Football for Peace’: Aizawl FC beat Nagaland United SC 2-0

Chümoukedima, June 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Super League (NSL) organised an exhibition football match titled “Match for Peace, Goal for Hope” at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Saturday to promote peace, unity and social responsibility through sports while raising support for underprivileged children.

The exhibition fixture featured Nagaland United Sports Club against Aizawl Football Club and sought to harness the power of football to inspire hope, encourage sportsmanship and strengthen bonds of friendship across communities.

Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio attended the programme as the chief guest in the presence of ministers, advisers and other government officials.

The event drew a large number of football enthusiasts, sports officials and members of the public, who turned up to witness the match and support the charitable initiative. Organised under the banner of the Nagaland Super League, the programme carried the message that “Peace Pays”, encouraging communities to work together towards a more inclusive and hopeful future while highlighting the unifying power of sports and the importance of creating opportunities for disadvantaged children.

Coca-Cola partnered the event as the beverage sponsor. In the exhibition match, Aizawl Football Club defeated Nagaland United Sports Club 2-0.
