Yonglok Village, April 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), along with concerned department officials, contractor representatives and the Phom People’s Council (PPC), conducted a joint inspection of the ongoing Foothills Road construction in the Longleng Sector.

Following the inspection, a meeting was held at Yonglok village, attended by the Village Councils of Namsang area and neighboring Anaki Village Council on April 17. The zone public expressed support for the NFHRCC’s efforts in transforming the long-awaited Dream Nagaland Foothills Road into reality, Media Cell, NFHRCC press release stated here. 

The public also thanked the State Government, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Minister of PWD (R&B) G Kaito Aye, for their inclusive approach in addressing the aspirations of 12 Nagaland tribes through the NFHRCC since its inception in 2013. There is hope that next phase of the construction will also be taken up on time in all fairness.

The inspection team certified that 60% of the maintenance road project in the Longleng Division has been completed, both technically and physically. Accordingly, the committee endorsed the release of further funds to the concerned department.
