Former Nagaland DGP KK Zutshi passes away

Dimapur, January 8 (MExN):  KK Zutshi IPS, reportedly the first Director General of Police (DGP), passed away on January 6. He was 86.

According to information on Nagaland Police’s website, Late Zutshi, born on November 12, 1934, joined the police service as an Haryana cadre on October 10, 1959.

He was promoted to Nagaland DGP on September 3, 1987 and served from November 11, 1987 to October 30, 1990. According another record, after the IPS cadre was first introduced in Nagaland in 1986,  Zutshi became the first DGP in the year 1987. 

Meanwhile, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton and others have condoled the demise while remembering his service to the state. 

“Saddened to learn about the demise of former DGP of Nagaland Shri K.K. Zutshi. He was a brilliant officer who made lasting contributions throughout his service. My deep condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace!” Patton, who also the State Home Minister, posted on Twitter. 

Nagaland Minister of Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along described Late Zutshi as a able office whose service to the Nation will always be remembered.

“It is disheartening to know about the demise of former DGP of Nagaland Shri K.K. Zutshi Ji. He was an able office whose service to the Nation will always be remembered. My condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.

“Former DGP Nagaland , KK ZUTSHI , IPS 1959, left for his heavenly abode. He was DGP Nagaland from 1987-1990. RIP SIR,” Nagaland, DGP(Border Affairs) Rupin Sharma IPS also condoled.
