DIMAPUR, APRIL 24 (MExN): The Food Safety Administration of Dimapur Zone, in collaboration with the FSSAI-empanelled training partner M/s Aroma Shiksha Evam Seva Samithi, Korba (Chhattisgarh), successfully conducted the Food Safety Training & Certification (FoSTaC) programme for Food Business Operators (FBOs) across four districts.
The training sessions were held in batches on April 10, 11, 21, and 22, targeting FBOs operating under various categories such as basic catering, basic manufacturing, food service providers (including hotels, restaurants, and food stalls), and Packaged Drinking Water Plants, a press release received from the CMO Dimapur informed.
A total of eight batches were trained during the programme. Dr Anup Kumar Tiwari, an empanelled trainer with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), served as the resource person. He emphasized the importance of adhering to Good Hygienic Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), alongside other essential food safety regulations.
Designated Officer (Food Safety), Samuel Zehol, stated that the programme aimed to ensure that FBOs are well-versed in national food safety standards and practices.
The FoSTaC training covered the districts of Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, and Peren, with the goal of enhancing compliance and awareness across the food industry in the region.
Similarly, the Food Safety Mokokchung Zone organized Food Safety Training & Certification (FoSTaC) for the Food Business Operators (FBOs) on April 24 at CMO Conference Hall Mokokchung. Chairing the event, Sukumlo Yanthan, Food Safety Officer informed that the training was aimed at those FBOs involved in running bakeries, restaurants, cafes, hotels and home-based manufacturing of food.
Dr Sentizungla Marina Yaden, Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung & I Tali Longkumer Councillor MMC, encouraged the Food Business Operators (FBOs) to equip the knowledge from the training to better the delivery of quality services to the consumers in the District.
FSSAI FoSTaC-Master Trainer Anup Kumar Tewari trained the FBOs on good hygiene and manufacturing practices as per requirements in Schedule 4 of Food Safety and Standards Licensing and Registration Regulations, 2011.
A live demonstration and sensitisation on the common food adulterants was showcased to the trainees by the Food Technicians Moangbenla Jamir and Hamche Phom of Food safety on Wheels Mokokchung Zone. IEC materials were also distributed to the FBOs.
