Our Correspondent Kohima | November 6 Foster’s Football Club, Sporting Club, EIMI United and Naga Terriers today won their respective matches at the Kohima Local Ground to move into the last-16 of the 23rd Classic Cup. Organised annually by the Classic Club, Kohima, the tournament’s theme this year is ‘Creating a better world through football’ A brace from Avilie Tsükrü ensured win for Foster’s FC over Seiyhazou Hill Boys FC 2-0. Tsükrü also created a ‘fastest goal’ tournament record striking within the first minute of play. The second goal came in the 22nd minute. Sporting Club prevailed over Dejavu FC 6-5 in the tie-breaker after the match was deadlocked 0-0. EIMI United blanked Veracious FC 2-0. Lalminhao got the lead in the 12th minute followed by Janghao scoring the second in the 42nd minute. Naga Terriers also blanked United Kimhoma Youth FC 4-0. Khampai Konyak scored the first and second goal in the 11th and 25th minute. The brace was followed by Khuanjang and Tiakaba scoring in quick succession in the 53rd and 57th minute.
