DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): Mon police have apprehended four people on different occasions for smuggling of suspected heroin locally called ‘sunflower’ drug. Addl SP & PRO Mon in a press release informed that on May 21 two people identified as Phongwang, aged 43 years and Khampei, aged 33 years were arrested by the police and one soap case and six tobacco containers of sunflower drug, approximately 18 grams, were seized from their possession.
On the same day, Mon police acting on specific inputs received from reliable sources arrested one Monjeak, aged 25 years, and seized four boxes of sunflower drugs, weighing 54.17 grams, from his possession. On May 28, the Mon police arrested one John Konyak, aged 43 years with 47 grams of sunflower drug in his possession. In this connection, cases have been registered against the accused and investigation is in process, the Mon police informed.
