Four held for extortion in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUNE 24 (MExN): In three separate cases of extortion, the Assam Rifles and Dimapur police nabbed four persons on June 24 and June 23 last. A press release from the Additional Superintendent of Police, Dimapur informed.
Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles while conducting routine security frisking arrested one Ato Sema, a self styled ‘Raja Peyu’ of the NNC from Super Market on June 24. According to the release, the arrested was stopped on suspicion and on frisking “recovered a half used booklet of Tax Receipt Coupons bearing the name of Ministry of Chaplee Affairs.” Earlier on June 23, one Vikiho Sema, a self styled ‘2nd lieutenant’ of the NNC was arrested from Walford area, also by the 24 AR. “Tax collection receipts bearing the name of Ministry of Chaplee Affairs, FGN was recovered from his possession”, the release stated.
The same day in a separate incident, Dimapur police acting on a complaint received from the public of Nagarjan, arrested two persons for demanding money from business owners in the locality. The arrested were identified as one Frento alias Mughavi and a Honito Yeptho, a self styled ‘leacy’ of the FGN. The release stated that the latter had sent the former to collect money from businesses there. Yeptho was arrested from Super Market, it added.

One held with firearm
One June 22 last, troops of the 24 AR while conducting routine security frisking at Super Market arrested one person in possession of a banned .22 pistol with seven live rounds and a magazine.
The release from the additional SP identified the arrested as one Khevito Yeptho, a self styled ‘captain’ of the FGN. He was booked under the Arms Act.
