Fr. Thomas John selected for study tour to USA

Jakhama, March 7 (MExN): Fr. Thomas John, Vice-Principal of St. Joseph’s College, has been selected to participate in a capacity building study tour of United States for Indian Educators of Community College. The tour, due to take place from March 22 to 30, is sponsored by the Embassy of the United States of America in India and Administered by Institute of International Education.

The eight days study tour will include visit to Washington D.C., Seattle, and New York, meeting key stakeholders, training activities, and visits to community colleges.
The main objectives of the study tour will be to understand the concept of community colleges in US context, understand how the range of programs and courses align with local industry and community needs, identify and learn best practices that can be replicated in Indian context. Identify one to one partnership potentials between US and India based community colleges, and network with US counterparts for exchange of ideas, expertise and resources.  

“We are very proud for Fr. Thomas John,” said Fr. Abraham Lotha, Principal stated in a press release. St. Joseph’s is starting Community College courses this year and the College will benefit from this study tour that Fr. Thomas John will participate.
