DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 5 (MExN): The Election Department Peren in collaboration with Nagaland Sport Association (NSA) organised a free football coaching camp for the students of higher secondary schools and colleges on September 4 & 5 at Peren town Local Ground.
The coaching camp was initiated under the SVEEP campaign 2023 targeting young population, educating them on electoral awareness and involving them in electoral process, a DIPR report stated.
The coaching camp was attended by 49 boys and 10 girls from 3 schools, one college and Peren Town Youth.
On the first day, the students were trained on basic tactic on football, how to play as a team and also how to be good sports person. On the second day, the players were divided into teams of 7 each and the best two teams played final match representing Chief Electoral Officer and District Election Officer Team. The girls were also divided into two teams and final match was played representing CEO and DEO team.
On the sidelines of the camp, registration in electoral roll for all eligible and perspective electors was also conducted. The training was organised by AIFF certified coaches and members of NSA.
Keneinguze Immanuel Pienyu, State SVEEP Icon and prominent football player also exhorted the students on electoral education and encouraged them to get registered in the electoral roll. The camp was beneficial for students in both the field of football and electoral awareness, the DIPR report stated.
