Kohima, February 26 (MExN): A free intensive cooking course for women was conducted at Phek town from February 22 to 24 last. The programme was organized by District Administration and District Level Centre for Women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek at GA Guest House Phek under nder Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

During the training session, Razouvolie Dozo, Deputy Commissioner Phek, said the objective of the training is to empower rural women through skill cooking, to make them economically dependent and self reliant.

He encouraged the trainees to be hardworking, sincere and dedicated and make the best use of cooking skills received during the training.

Chef Kusa Lohe (finalist of Naga Chef season 4) was the resource person for the  Cooking Skill training program. In his speech, he thanked the department for organizing such an innovative and productive training  to uplift the women folks in the district.

Altogether, 35 participants from various part of Phek district took part in the training.

Around 15 variety of Indian and Chinese cuisine were imparted during the training session.

The two beneficiaries Kekhroche T Tara and Dzupalu Duku shared their experiences throughout the training journey.
All the participants received a gift hampers of kitchen sets and Apron sets during the training.

The program was chaired by Wetsho Lasushe EAC, Nodal Officer of BBBP, Phek. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vilenuo Kapu, Women Welfare Officer, DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Phek.
