Friends of 80 Plus Kohima village today honoured 80 plus citizens of Kohima village in a befitting manner through its 17th foundation day 2022, held at T Khel Community Hall, Kohima, Village.
Presently, there are one hundred and fifty nine 80 plus citizens in Kohima village. Blanket and other gift have been extended to 80 plus citizens today.
Medical check- up and free medicine have been provided by Kohima Village Doctors Association.
Friends of 80 Plus is a network and fellowship of like-minded people, a non-profit voluntary and benevolent fellowship organisation started in the year 2002 with an aim to revive and uphold the Naga traditional practice of placing highest value and respect to elders.
Since its inception, the Friends of 80 Plus have been commemorating April 30 as its foundation day to honour 80 Plus citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Angami Public Organisation (APO) President, Razouvotuo Chatsu maintained ‘guidance, wisdom and blessings’ of the elderly persons as the greatest tools toward securing a progressive and peaceful society.
In this, he challenged the gathering to show their love and affection to the senior citizens. Later, he released a magazine of Friends of 80 Plus.
T Khel Council chairman K Neibou Sekhose and Dr Viketoulie Pienyü also spoke at the programme. The programme also witnessed special songs from Ulikhrie and Friends of 80 Plus. The programme was chaired by Vilakuolie Mere while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Vizolie Suokhrie.
