Niesa Kolakhe, the reigning Mrs. Femme International 2024, graced the 78th Cannes Film Festival on May 20 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
Sharing glimpses of her appearance on Instagram, Kolakhe stunned in an outfit by Hacchic Couture, captioning her post: “Stepping onto that iconic red carpet, under those legendary Cannes lights was a dream unfolding in real time. Everything I’d imagined and so much more. This moment will forever be one of the biggest of my life. Not because it was perfect but because I fought through the madness and SHOWED UP. And trust me, it was worth every second.”
She added, “The girl from Nagaland made it to Cannes. And this is just the beginning.”
In another post, Kolakhe paid tribute to her husband’s heritage by wearing a gold Kanchipuram saree from Vijayalakshmi Silks, paired with a handcrafted Yikphyan necklace and earrings from Nagaland. She wrote: “I draped an exquisite gold Kanchipuram saree @vijayalakshmisilks to honour my husband’s South Indian heritage and paired it with a handcrafted Yikphyan necklace and earrings from Nagaland - my birthplace and cultural heart.”
She said, “Together, they tell the story of who I am: a blend of two rich traditions, woven into one identity. It is my way of celebrating India’s diversity on a global stage. It’s a beautiful fusion and cultural amalgamation, in the most impeccable way showcasing their undeniable fortitude and resilience.”
