Botsa (Kohima) | February 24 : Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today asserted that a full budget will be presented at the forthcoming budget session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) starting from March 22 here. Rio, who also holds finance portfolio, said the government would go for a full budget presentation. Talking to media persons on the sideline of launching the commencement work of Botsa- Bokajan road here this morning, Rio disclosed that he will be meeting the Planning Commission by the early part of March in New Delhi to finalize the state plan outlay.
The Chief Minister, however, said that whether he meets the latter or not for finalization of the state plan allocation, a full budget will be presented in the House. “We don’t have agenda” said Rio on being asked whether there is any re-shuffle on the card in the NPF led DAN ministry. On the forthcoming by-elections in 26th Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, Rio said “Let the Election Commission of India announce the date of polls.” Stating that NPF is ready for by-elections, Rio however said “We are hoping for a consensus.”
On reported anomalies on online exam question papers in the Nagaland University, Rio termed it as “unfortunate,” adding “we are looking into the matter.” Further, Rio who recently returned from Delhi said the regional political parties of north east region met at Delhi and agreed to form a common platform called North East Democratic Forum (NEDF) to raise common voice for the people of north east.
Rio disclosed that the formal launching of NEDF is targeted on March 18 at Guwahati.
