Futsal Arena inaugurated at Yhoshü Resource Centre Kigwema

DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): A newly constructed futsal arena at the Yhoshü Resource Centre (YRC), located above Pony Farm in Kigwema village, was officially inaugurated on April 14 by Bhaskar Bhattacharjee, Senior Vice President and Whole Time Director of Apraava Energy’s Jhajjar Power Limited, Haryana.

The 66x106 feet arena is part of the YRC’s ongoing infrastructure development under Apraava Energy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at youth empowerment and community development.

Speaking at the event, Bhattacharjee expressed enthusiasm for the company’s engagement with the local community in Nagaland. “Apraava Energy has a broad vision of giving back to the society by engaging with communities on a long-term basis,” he said. Commending the Yhoshü clan for their leadership in the project, he added, “It is encouraging to see the community taking up a project focused on empowering the youth.”

The YRC, which envisions serving as a hub for learning, livelihood, sports, and community growth, has been in development for several years with the support of local leaders and limited government assistance. YRC Committee Convener Visato Yhoshü said the project marks a turning point for the community.

“We have done what we could with what little we had, but we have also long felt a growing desire for something that would not just respond to our present, but build a foundation for our future,” said Yhoshü. “It is the spirit of community, collaboration, and generosity that has made our vision a reality.”
He acknowledged Apraava Energy’s CSR wing and credited Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang, founder of the Eleutheros Christian Society in Tuensang, for connecting the community with the energy firm and supporting the initiative.

Apraava Energy officials Rajeev Rao, General Manager (HR & Admin) of Jhajjar Power Ltd., and CSR Senior Manager Binita also addressed the gathering. They reiterated the company’s commitment to strengthening communities, particularly through youth and women-focused initiatives.

Rev. Dr. Chang highlighted the strategic importance of the centre’s location, noting the high concentration of schools and colleges in the vicinity. “This area serves not only Kigwema but also students from across Nagaland, including from the eastern districts,” he said. He encouraged the YRC team to ensure the centre remains inclusive and beneficial to all youth in the region.

The dedicatory prayer for the futsal arena was led by Rev. Mekhale, Pastor of Kigwema Baptist Church. The event also included the presentation of the project report by Khietole Yhoshü of the YRC project team, and words of gratitude from Yhoshü clan chairman Yathosie Yhoshü.

Following the formal programme, an exhibition futsal match was held with participation from local youth.
