Krishna Kumar of Wokha was named Player of the Match for his 4/17 performance against Tseminyu in the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament on April 16 at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima.

Chümoukedima, April 16 (MExN): Wokha secured a comprehensive 5-wicket victory over Tseminyu in a low-scoring encounter during the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament, held at Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Chümoukedima on April 16.
Batting first, Tseminyu struggled against Wokha’s bowlers, managing just 77 runs before being bowled out in 31.5 overs.
Ayub (16) and Sonyelo Kent (15) were the top contributors, but no other batter could establish a significant partnership.
Krishna Kumar was the standout performer for Wokha, claiming 4 wickets for 17 runs in his 10-over spell, helping restrict Tseminyu to a low total.
In reply, Wokha chased down the target of 78 runs in 22.2 overs, losing 5 wickets along the way. The chase was anchored by Liren M Jungio (17 off 22 balls) and Shahil Uddin Laskar (17 off 44 balls), with Sokelo Semp of Tseminyu taking 3 wickets for 22 runs in 6 overs. However, the low target proved insufficient to defend.
Kumar was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling figures of 4/17.
Meanwhile, the scheduled match between Kohima and Mokokchung at Sovima Cricket Ground was abandoned.
