KOHIMA, APRIL 25 (MExN): Government doctors have now a restrictive directive from the Health & Family Welfare Department, warning against “public utterance” without government sanction. The gag order, communicated via the DIPR on April 25, invoked the “Nagaland Government Servant (Conduct) Rules, 1968 which prohibits government servants from broadcasting or publishing or any communication to the press or public utterance of any statement of fact or opinion not connected with the discharge of official duty, without prior government sanction.” The communication-cum-order asked the doctors in government service to take note of the directive and refrain from engaging in any activity or communication, which would violate the employee conduct rules. “Any violation of the same shall attract disciplinary proceedings against the Government Servants under the conduct rules,” it said.
