Dimapur, January 20 (MExN): In regard to the mobile phone SIM prepaid cards verification, the GBs’ Union Dimapur has informed that GBs are appointed by the government and that the telecom companies should accept the residential certificates issued by the GBs, since Nagaland’s system of "administration is different than other parts of India".
“ …the last 2-3 days the public are seen gathered at all mobile offices to verify their mobile SIM cards, here the GB would like to say that while some companies are accepting the GBs “residential certificate”, some aren’t which is causing harassment to the public,” stated a release issued by its general secretary.
Further in the note it has informed the GBs of Dimapur, especially those under GB Union Dimapur to attend the Republic Day function at DDSC Stadium on January 26 at 8:30 am wearing GB waist coat and to be present in the afternoon function as well. Attendance will be taken in both the functions. This is as per directive of the deputy commissioner Dimapur. Moreover, on account of Republic Day the union's office will remain closed and tax will not be collected in the Super Market on that day.
