ZUNHEBOTO, NOVEMBER 4 (MExN): The Gaon Bura (GBs) shoulder significant responsibilities as the development and progress of the village depend on their level of activity and wisdom," stated K Tokugha Sukhalu, Advisor to Food & Civil Supply and Legal Metrology, on Saturday.
Addressing the 28th Baghi Hoho of Zunheboto Area GB Association held under the theme 'Fostering Peace and Upliftment of Society' as the special guest, he emphasised the importance of village GBs of being always being fair, just, and committed to doing good deeds during their leadership.
According to a DIPR report, the Advisor also pointed out that despite many plans being in the pipeline by the State Government, the issue of land compensation is hindering development.
Unless everyone comes together to resolve the land compensation issues, achieving development will be a significant challenge, he added.
Sukhalu also expressed his appreciation for the outgoing executive members of the associations for their service during their tenure and extended his best wishes to the newly inducted members.
The event included a welcome address by GB Hetoho S Zhimomi and a report by Kihoto Shohe.
