Winner of Battle of the Bands with officials

Gears 4 band of the Model Higher Secondary School Kohima) won the Battle of the Bands 2024 (Beat Contest for High School and Higher Secondary School students of Nagaland) organised by Department of Youth Resources & Sports in association with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) at RCEMPA, Jotsoma near Kohima on September 27.
With this win, Gears 4 carried a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh which was handed over by MLA Tsielhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso.
The Crossians of Holy Cross HSS Dimapur bagged the second position while Escapism of Bethesda HSS Dimapur stood third position and received Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
The five consolation winners includes; Genesis of The Vineyard School Kohima, PHSS of Patkai HSS Chümoukedima, Bauhang of GHSS Longleng, The Redeemers of St John HSS and The Euphonic Design of Loyola HSS Kiphire.
Meanwhile, during the two-day state level Youth Festival which was held Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima on September 27, Tuensang bagged the first position in folk song, 2nd– Shamator and 3rd- Kiphire; Folk Dance: 1st-Mokokchung, 2nd -Peren, 3rd-Mon; Science Mela: 1st-Zunheboto, 2nd-Mokokchung, 3rd-Wokha; Declamation: 1st-Peren, 2nd-Tuensang, 3rd-Wokha; Painting: 1st-Phek, 2nd-Niuland, 3rd-Zunheboto.
Theja Meru, Chairman, TaFMA shared greetings at the prize distribution ceremony held at RCEMPA. Earlier, the closing programme was chaired by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director, Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland while welcome address was delivered Anthony Ngullie, Secretary, Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Hovithal Sothu, Project Director, TaFMA.
