Lumami, November 24 (MExN): A Gender Sensitization Program was organised by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Nagaland University on November 23. 

The key responsibilities of ICC and UGC Regulations 2015 on Internal Complaints Committee and how it should be implemented mandatorily in higher educational institutions were highlighted by Prof Talijungla, Department of Botany. 

NU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik in his address remarked positively “on the social status of Naga women and the absence of sexual harassment complaints within the university are commendable and show a supportive environment.” He also spoke on Perspectives on Gender Equality: the struggles faced by educated Naga women regarding gender equality, discrimination, and sexual harassment in society, stated a press release issued by PRO In-Charge & Hindi Officer Nagaland University, HQ: Lumami. 

Arenla Longkumer and Prof Toshimenla addressed the struggles faced by educated Naga women regarding gender equality, discrimination, and sexual harassment in society.

NURegistrar Dr Abemo, along with other officials, faculties, and students also attended the programme. Angunuo Kieya, Deputy Registrar, Finance welcomed the delegates and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Latonglila.
