GHS Akuluto ‘honours the past’ during 50 years celebration

Akuluto, November 20 (DIPR): Government High School, Akuluto on November 17 celebrated its Golden Jubilee under the theme ‘Honouring the Past.’  

Students are the real asset of the nation, maintained Deputy DEO, Zunheboto, Emilo Patton speaking at the celebration. She stressed on the importance of students teachers relation and pointed that quality learning largely depends on quality teaching.  

V.C. Khutovi Sema, the only surviving member of the 1st Managing Board of the School, briefing on the history of the school said the school during the early period functioned through the contributions made by public leaders and elders. The school, he stated, was finally recognized by the Government during the tenure the previous Finance Minister late Dr. Hokishe Sema.  

Prof. Horticulture Department, SARSD, NU, Medziphema, Dr. Akali who is also an alumni of the school also delivered a short speech. “The mistake of a lawyer ends in jail, the mistake of a doctor ends in grave, but the mistake of a teacher destroys the whole nation,” she said in her speech.  

Dr. Hesheto Chishi said the invocation prayer. Convenor, Jubilee Planning Board, Government High School, unveiled the Jubilee Gate, on behalf of the chief guest. Head Master, GHS, Akuluto delivered the welcome address.
