CHÜMOUKEDIMA, JUNE 6 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Government Higher Secondary School science laboratory was inaugurated on Thursday with Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam as the chief guest.
Principal, GHSS, Chümoukedima, Karen Yepthomi, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to the DC for setting up its science laboratory equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and required apparatus and chemicals, on his own, a DIPR report stated.
The Principal commended that the DC has always been a pillar of strength and support for the school over the years. She added that such rare examples of visionary leaderships are a boon to society and this benevolent act will usher in blessings for generations of students ahead who will avail the resources of the lab facility in pursuing their education.
DC, Abhinav Shivam, in his address, appreciated the endeavor of the school teachers and the Principal for providing excellent education and motivated them to continue to reach forward with sincerity and dedication.
Shivam said he was ashamed and embarrassed to learn that the best performing government school of the district and perhaps of Nagaland, did not have a science lab for the students.
He recalled the collective efforts of the Principal, Chümoukedima Village Council Chairman, Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation and others had strived for the betterment of school and demanded the establishment of the science stream, but without a science lab, the students of science stream were suffering.
The Principal had promised the parents of the students of science stream that she will arrange for the science lab for their children, Shivam said while adding that the society should come forward to support the promises of a good teacher, inspired by which, he had set up the science lab for the school. He implored the students to have big dreams and encouraged them to work hard to achieve it, which is the key for success and progress of the society.
Under the leadership of the dedicated and committed principal and teachers, GHSS, Chümoukedima have brought laurels to the State. llamguale A Zeliang, a student of 12 standard Arts stream ranked in the top 5th position in the HSSLC exam 2024. The school also had a hundred percent pass result in the HSSLC 2024.
The school also won the first position in the Nagaland Inter District Choir Competition 2024 organized by Samagra Shiksha as well as the 1stposition in the district level marathon organized by the NISE and the Forest Department on World Environment Day 2024, the DIPR report highlighted.
