Medziphema, September 14 (MExN): The 9th Inter-School Football Tournament, organised by the Medziphema Town Students' Union, concluded here on Monday with GHSS winning the High School Division and SFS Higher Secondary School emerging champions in the Higher Secondary Division.
In the Higher Secondary Division final, SFS Higher Secondary School defeated GHSS 2-0 in a closely contested match.
SFS took the lead in the 25th minute through Kezhavizo, who found the net with a precise finish. Captain Amang doubled the lead in the second half with a strike from close range.
In the High School Division final, GHSS defeated SFS Higher Secondary School 2-0.
GHSS took the lead in the 17th minute when Lhousakhoto scored. Despite SFS enjoying better ball control and creating several chances, they failed to convert them. Lhousakhoto scored his second goal in the second half to seal the victory for GHSS.
In the individual awards, Mhasilhouto (GHSS) and Lammik Ai (SFS) were named Best Goalkeepers in the Higher Secondary and High School divisions respectively.
Shushant (SFS) and Mhasivoto (GHSS) won the Best Defender awards, while Vincent (SFS) and Lhousakhoto (GHSS) were adjudged Best Players in the respective divisions.
Kikruneilie Kera (SFS) and Viselie Vasa (SFS) were the Highest Scorers in the Higher Secondary and High School divisions respectively.
Lunchong of Modern Christian School received the Emerging Player award, while Modern Christian School was named the Best Disciplined Team.
