Come Monday night and popular Bangalore-based hard rock and melodic band ‘Girish and the Chronicles’ will take centre stage on Day-9 of the ongoing Hornbill Music Festival held at NER Agri Expo, 4th Mile Dimapur.


The band which emerged second runner-up during the 2011 Hornbill Rock Contest, with its band members bagging the best guitarist and best vocalist awards respectively, is set to enthrall their fans and audience with s series of their original compositions and a couple of cover songs.


Talking to media persons Sunday evening here at Noune Resort, the band members expressed happiness to have the opportunity to perform again in Nagaland and said they are expecting good time and vibe with the music lovers of the state.


On Naga musicians, Girish praised Naga musicians for their versatility and said Nise Meruno has always remained as a source of inspiration to him. He also said he had performed with Alobo Naga on a number of occasions.


The band’s frontman and vocalist Girish Pradhan also disclosed that they would be releasing their second album in May next. GATC released their debut album ‘Back on earth’ in 2014. On their popular song “Smile little child”, Girish said the song was inspired by Operation Smile, a US based organization committed to provide free treatment to children with cleft lip or palate.


The other members of the band are Nagen Mongrati, Yogesh Pradahn and Suraj Karki.
