Give peace a chance, Pusa urges

Kohima, Jan 2 (MExN): Congress Parliamentary Secretary and MLA, K V Pusa has urged the people of the state to completely stop all sorts of violence to give peace a chance and facilitate economic growth of the state.

Addressing the 42nd annaul games and sports meet of Kidima Youth Organisation, Pusa said only peace can take the State and its people forward and therefore peace must be in everyone’s heart to facilitate economic growth and progress of the state. He said that Nagas can no longer afford to be people which time forgot when the world has been changing drastically, especially in economic front. “I appeal to each and everyone to concentrate and work for peace and progress of the state” the Congress leader said. 

The Parliamentary Secretary  particularly urged the youth to shun the path of violence and activities which are detrimental to the Naga society. He said Naga youths should be responsible and beneficial to the Naga society and not to indulge in anti-social activities, which, the leader said has become the order of the day. He urged youngsters to stay away from alcohol and drugs as well.

Parliamentary Secretarty Pusa also expressed appreciation at the contribution made by the people of Kidima to the state, ‘especially in Naga nationalism’, where , he said they were at the forefront. He urged the people of Kidima to lead the Nagas towards early solution of  the Naga issue. Notwithstanding the razing of the village twice in the 60s by security forces for ‘harbouring the Naga militants’, the village today could produce hundreds of intellectuals, leaders and government officials, Pusa said. 

The Parliamentary Secretary also donated Rs. 1 lakh towards the maintenance of public ground and Rs. 25000 towards the organization. While MLA Medokul Sophie also donated Rs. 9000 to the organizers. 

The meet will continue till January 5 next.
