Global Hand Washing Day observed at Phek & Peren

Children who participated in the observation of the Global Handwashing Day in Phek on October 15. 

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): The Global Hand Washing Day was observed on October 15 at Modern Visionary School, Phek village under the theme ‘Clean Hands for All.’ The event was organized by DWSM, PHED Phek division. 

Head Teacher, Velato pronouced the invocation prayer while IEC Consultant, PHED Phek, Kutulu Vero shared on the importance of hand washing with soap and also demonstrated the technique of hand washing. She further challenged the students to inculcate the habit of washing hand with soap in ones daily live. 

A programme was also held to mark the day at Samziuram village under Peren District. The programme was organized by the DWSM, PHED Peren and sponsored by WSSM Kohima.  During the program Swachhagrahi Zylung briefed on the Global Hand Washing Day theme and focused on the links between handwashing and food including hygiene and nutrition. Vito G. Sumi, Consultant DWSM PHED Peren also spoke on the topic Hygiene and Nutrition.
