
Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): Government Middle School, Veterinary Colony celebrated golden jubilee at the school premises at A. Mao colony, UNB-B, Dimapur on November 11. R. Amongla Jamir, Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO), Dimapur and Kaini Kikon were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
A press note received here stated that Amongla Jamir unveiled the golden jubilee plaque, which was dedicated with prayer by Rev. Wati Kichu, DABA Associate Pastor.
The DDEO while congratulating the pioneers, School Management Committee (SMC) and the teachers for the completion of 50 long years reminded them not to hesitate in approaching the District Education Department for the welfare of the school. She said SMC has great role to play to elevate the school to greater height and “if such effort is made, the government will not take time to upgrade the School to High School.”
Kaini Khekho released the golden jubilee souvenir and apprised the students to be smart and upright. Senti, Deputy Director of Department of Evaluation, former Chairman of Ward Education Committee, and present SMC member presented a brief history of the school. N. Humtsoe, Chairman, UNB-B and Khreniuo, ToT Coordinator of UBRC, Dimapur also delivered short speeches. Liangsi Niumai John, chairperson of the school highlighted the history of the school. Making the day more significant, the chairperson declared the school ‘Plastic Free Zone School Premises.’
Later, the chief guest and guest of honour distributed Award Certificates of Appreciation and Honour to the SMC members, teachers and parliamentary student members. Special items and talent shows were performed by the students.
