Kohima, May 19 (MExN): Lieutenant General Abhay Krishna, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command is on a visit to the Army’s Spear Corps Zone on May 19 and 20. Accompanied by Lieutenant General Gopal R, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, he commenced his tour from Dimapur today as part of his assessment of the prevailing security situation in the North East States, informed a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence). On arrival in Dimapur, he was briefed on the progress of operations being undertaken by the Spear Corps by General Gopal R. On May 20, Abhay Krishna will accompany the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who is scheduled to visit Nagaland for an assessment of the security situation along the border areas with Myanmar.
