SENAPATI, JULY 16 (NNN): The United Naga Council (UNC) has asked the Government of India to prove its worth by not getting swayed by pressures from those quarters who are working against the Naga peace process. The UNC said this at the backdrop of the reported campaigning of the Manipur government team led by Chief Minister, N Biren Singh in New Delhi that the Framework Agreement (FA) signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM be limited within the present Nagaland State boundary. The UNC, through its publicity wing, told Newmai News Network that “if the Government of India has really understood the position of the Naga people including the history and situation, as the latter has been claiming time and again, then it should not be influenced by certain party or community”. “The latter should also prove its sincerity on its commitment regarding the Naga political issue”, it added. It also added that 22 years of talk is a long period, and that, "it is time for GOI to resolve the issue". The UNC then appealed all people to extend their supports for safe landing of the "Naga Framework Agreement".
