Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur observes 212th Bhanu Jayanti

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur (GYCD), led by President Sumit Sunar and other office-bearers, organised the 212th  Bhanu Jayanti celebration at Cornerstone College, Duncan Bosti, on July 13 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya, regarded as a pioneer of Nepali literature.

According to a press release, the programme paid tribute to Acharya's contribution to Nepali literature, particularly his translation of the Ramayana into Nepali, which made the epic accessible to a wider audience and is considered a landmark in the development of modern Nepali literature.

The event was attended by Gorkha community leaders, senior citizens, representatives of various organisations, youth, students and other members of the community.

The GYCD stated that the observance reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the literary and cultural legacy of Bhanubhakta Acharya and promoting cultural heritage and unity within the Gorkha community.
