If everything goes well, then Mokokchung district might get a premier health institute within the next few years, the foundation stone for which was laid by Nagaland Governor PB Acharya here today in the presence of a host of dignitaries from the state government and civil societies.
The health institute called, Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre which is a “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of REM Group at Moayimti village, some seventy kilometers away from Mokokchung town.
Managing Director & Chairman of REM Group, Temjen Imna Along Lkr, while speaking with media persons on the sidelines of the foundation laying programme, disclosed that the REM Group is a ‘six group companies based in different cities and countries like Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, Dimapur etc’. He said that the Beth Shalom Diagnostics, Multispecialty and Research Centre will be completed within the next three years. It will be 150-bedded multispecialty institute, with separate male and female wards and at least thirty cabins.
Temjen Imna Along also disclosed that Beth Shalom Centre is the CSR initiative of REM Group which carries out social activities like cleanliness drives (under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), career counseling etc. Under the Swachh Bharat Abjiyan, the Beth Shalom has covered thirty four villages, and expects to cover all the villages under Mokokchung district by next year, he said.
“We want to make Mokokchung as the cleanest district in India…” said Temjen Imna while speaking about the SBA.
Meanwhile the governor also spoke at the programme.
