Gov urges WFI to organize tournament in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN):  Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya while appreciating the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) for its achievements has urged to the President, WFI, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh to organize important wrestling tournaments in Nagaland.   Acharya said that, Nagas have a special type of wrestling which is a very popular game in Nagaland. It will be a good encouragement for the youth if WFI organize such tournaments it will motivate them to take up this sporting profession, he stated.   Meanwhile, the Governor also congratulated Ajay Singh on being elected as the President of Boxing Federation of India (BFI). The Governor said it will be a good encouragement if the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) organises important boxing tournaments in Nagaland for the Nagas and also to motivate them to take up this sporting profession.
