Governor Acharya visits 37 Assam Rifles base

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam, Dr Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya visited the Piphema and Zubza company operating base of 37 Assam Rifles on April 17.   During the visit, the Governor was briefed on the role of Assam Rifles in providing a safe and stable environment for development and growth and about prevailing security situation, a press release from Assam Rifles informed.

  Meanwhile, the Governor interacted with troops and enquired about their wellbeing and nature of duty. He also advised the troops to maintain close contact with local population and to project Assam Rifles in positive light. Further, he informed the troops about welfare schemes like Jan-Dhan Yojana, Kisan Bima Yojana and loans from Mudra Bank and asked them to take benefits from these schemes.   He also lauded the high standards of morale among the troops and conveyed his appreciation for the outstanding performance and contribution of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace and tranquillity in Nagaland, the release added.
