
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 5 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya today stated that Nagaland is rich in natural resources, talent and manpower; however “we need the right guidance, machinery, training to achieve the full potential.”
He was addressing an interactive session with members of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture (MCCIA) and members of the Kohima Village Council at the Kohima Village Panchayat Hall on October 4.
Governor Acharya maintained that unless North East develops India will not develop. He called on the gathering to change their mind set and work towards achieving a sustainable Nagaland. He encouraged the youth to take up entrepreneurship and to be job givers and not job seekers. He emphasised on the importance of the three E’s, Education, Employment and Electricity for development.
The Governor maintained that Nagaland need to move ahead with development and called on the Kohima Village Council to take the lead. He called on the Council to take the opportunity and support of the MCCIA and have fruitful interaction with the members.
President MCCIA, Santosh Mandlecha meanwhile stated that that the MCCIA is on a visit to Nagaland on the invitation of Governor Acharya. He informed the meeting that the members of MCCIA had met and interacted with young entrepreneurs and business persons over the past two days. He also stated that they had fruitful discussion with the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries and exchanged ideas.
Mandlecha also announced that the MCCIA will extend support to the youth of Nagaland. He said that one could contact the Help Desk of MCCIA for any query and assistance.
Other members of MCCIA who spoke on the occasion said that Nagaland could do well in the tourism sector and observed that improvement infrastructure was needed to expand tourism in the State.
The interaction was attended by Advisor Rural Development, Dr Neikisalie Nicky Kire, members of Kohima Village Council and other organisations of Kohima Village.
