Governor, CM greets Rengma community

Kohima, November 27 (MExN): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister TR Zeliang have extended greetings to the Rengma community on the occasion of Ngada Festival, one of the most important festivals of the Rengma Tribe.   “As we celebrate Ngada, let the spirit of oneness, reconciliation, forgiveness, peace and harmony prevail. On this auspicious occasion, I take this privilege to wish the Rengma community a happy and meaningful Ngada celebration in the best of health and spirit,” Zeliang’s message read.  

In a separate message, Governor Acharya reminded the community to take responsibility in making the various welfare projects and schemes of both Central and State governments known to the farmers.  

He added that the festival should be a source for building unity and called on all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State. “May the festival of Ngada bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Rengma’s in particular and Nagas in general,” Acharya’s message read.
