Kohima, March 26 (MExN): Lok Bhavan Nagaland will join millions across the globe in observing Earth Hour 2026, the worldwide movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) aimed at raising awareness on climate change, energy conservation and environmental sustainability.
Earth Hour will be observed on Saturday, March 28, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. During this hour, Lok Bhavan, Nagaland will switch off non-essential lights and electrical appliances as a symbolic gesture of commitment towards protecting the environment, a press release received here stated.
The Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav has encouraged the citizens of Nagaland to extend their full cooperation in this symbolic act of solidarity for the planet and called upon all residents, individuals, communities, households, and businesses, to participate actively by switching off non-essential lights, reducing energy consumption, and spreading awareness about environmental conservation across Nagaland.
Citing that “Earth Hour is more than just turning off lights, it is a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the environment,” the Governor urged everyone to take this moment to reflect and commit to meaningful climate action.
Citizens of Nagaland have been encouraged to observe Earth Hour in a spirit of unity and responsibility and to adopt energy-saving practices that contribute to environmental conservation.
