On declaration of year 2010 as “Year of Entrepreneurs” the DAN government is all set to implement its proposed plans and policies by providing micro-credit facilities and in the meantime aimed at building up the skills and capacities of the rural entrepreneurs with special focus to motivate them in the field of rural economy. The yearlong project also aimed at encouraging the rural youths to avail micro-credit facilities through enterprising with innovative ideology for younger generation.
As per the government statement as laid down in Draft Annual Plan 2010-11, a special target was aimed at facilitating the problems rural self help groups (SHGs). Terming the ‘Entrepreneur Associates’ as a good motivator, the statement added that the instrumental behind the formation of SHGs lies with the venture of the Entrepreneur Associates stating that it helps the rural youths by extending small scale loans to a promising youths. Extension of rural micro-credit covering the entire district and imparting capacity building courses in and outside the world platform basing on their innovative success stories were some other plans of the government in this regard.
In order to help the rural youth to well organize SHGs, the department of Cooperation has been identifying and nurturing few rural entrepreneurs of various trades in pocket areas of the state. The objectives which ultimately aimed at transforming the SHGs into cooperative societies also aimed at promoting them to become a member of shareholder of cooperative societies. Imparting training on technical know-how and skill development will be sponsored by National Cooperative Union India (NCUI) project adding that the training would be translated into setting up of active manufacturing enterprise units on regular basis by the trained entrepreneurs. Those SHGs who required acquiring the low cost machines in setting up the unit the department would assist them with financial support.
All programmes related to entrepreneurship would be organized in a systematic code and hence towards this initiatives government had allocated budgetary provision where out of 1000 lakhs set aside for the same, some few earmarked budget stated in the in Draft Annual Plan 2010-11 against Annual Plan Outlay as given; (a) Areca Leaf Plate Making Plate @ 35 lakhs (b) Banana Fibre Extractor @ 30 lakhs (c) Molasses (Gur) Making @ 30 lakhs and (d) Rubber Roller @ 25 lakhs 1000 youths from the entire districts will be taken part under various planned projects.
Meanwhile, some rural young entrepreneurs from Phek district suggested that, those entrepreneurs who are successfully running their project and facing financial problems for the upgradation of its project should be identified and assisted as per the genuine requirement of their needs. A self-employed from Phek Town, a post graduate in science stream, running a poultry farm some 10 Kms away from Phek Town while contacted informed this correspondent that lack of financial support at times fail to reach the targeted achievement. However, stated that he is determined to seek the government assistance after fulfilling his first phase level. With all hardships he judiciously maintained his project under well push off.
The only private computer institute in the district head quarter which is run by one entrepreneur Ate Venuh, a post graduate with computer diploma said that the institute is functioning in a progressing manner. It is also learnt that an asset meant for the institute worth at least 2.75 lakhs was procured within a period of 2 year; Ate disclosed that he started his project with a meager amount of 50,000/- obtain from CM Corpus Fund besides few donations from friends and well wishers. He is satisfied with the performance of his pupils and his initiatives as well.
