Meanwhile, the Governor extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Easter. Stating that Christ’s resurrection signifies triumph of truth over evil and that love is always stronger than hatred, the Governor called on the people to let the day of resurrection make all work for peace, harmony and brotherhood. He also appealed the people to pray for peace in the State. “May the celebration of Easter foster the spirit of love and forgiveness in all of us,” he added. Nagaland State Chief Minister, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu also wished all a very blessed Good Friday and a happy Easter. In his message, issued through the CMO, the Nagaland CM stated Good Friday is the most important day for Christians, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His death at Calvary. It is centered towards feeling of sorrow, at the pain and humiliation that Jesus underwent for the cause of goodness and to save our souls. On this holy occasion, he said, “it is better to allow our lives to speak for us than just our words and on Good Friday we get to take stock of whether we are achieving this.” He also wished that everyone be blessed with the goodness of Good Friday and that all may give thanks to God through their living. “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son to die on the Cross to take away the sins of humankind,” he quoted.
