Longleng, February 18 (MExN): The newly constructed Government Observation Home, Longleng, at Bahok ward was inaugurated by Sara R Ritse, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Social Welfare Department, and Chairman, Child Protection Services, Nagaland on February 17 in the presence of A Tosheli Zhimomi, Additional Director, Social Welfare Department and Society Director of Child Protection Services, Nagaland.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Sarah R Ritse highlighted that Longleng is the third District in Nagaland to have constructed the building for the Government Observation Home, for Juvenile both (Girls and Boys). 

The building is meant to house juveniles in conflict with the law during the pendency of a case. She encouraged the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) and all stakeholders to work together and mentor the juveniles to become decent and responsible citizens, stated a DIPR report. 

The program was attended by a host of dignitaries including T Mhabemo Yanthan, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor; M Shayung Phom, Deputy Commissioner Longleng; K Wango Langsym, Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department; Holika Sukhalu, JMFC and Principal Magistrate of JJB, Longleng; CWC Chairman, Chingsha Phom; T Longlang Lakpan, CDPO Longleng among others. The program was chaired by Kezevinuo Thepa, Superintendent of Observation Home Longleng.
